Here’s my personal take on episode 8 - 11!
🔥 Episode 8: Sparks Fly (Literally and Figuratively)
This episode had me laughing, cringing, and secondhand blushing all at once. After all the madness with Acrobatic Silky, we finally get a bit of "down time" with Momo, Okarun, Seiko, Turbo Granny, and the new addition, Aira. But honestly, calling it "down time" feels wrong because Momo and Aira's rivalry takes center stage.
The passive-aggressive back-and-forth between Momo and Aira? Absolutely hilarious. The awkward "does she like Okarun or not?" moments made me want to yell at the screen. And Aira’s little blush when Okarun talks to her? Oh, I felt that shift in the air. Is this the beginning of a love triangle? Possibly, and I’m here for it (but also kind of stressed about it).
What I loved most: The humor. I didn’t expect to laugh as much as I did, especially when Seiko jumps in with her wild commentary. The episode had a perfect balance of heart, humor, and those “uh oh” moments that hint at future drama.
💥 Episode 9: Misunderstandings Galore
Episode 9 felt a bit slower, but in a good way. The story focuses more on character interactions and subtle emotional shifts. We see Momo grappling with her feelings for Okarun, which honestly makes her feel so much more real. It’s not that "in-your-face" anime love, but that quiet realization that sneaks up on you. But of course, misunderstandings have to come in and mess it all up.
When Momo spots Okarun and Aira looking a little too friendly, I knew things were about to get messy. It’s classic anime miscommunication, but it works here because, let’s be real — who hasn’t jumped to conclusions before? This whole episode reminded me of those "ugh, just talk to each other" moments, but I couldn’t stop watching.
What I loved most: The slow but steady development of feelings. There’s something so relatable about being unsure of how you feel about someone and watching them (potentially) bond with someone else. It’s painful, it’s messy, but it’s also incredibly human.
🚀 Episode 10: Calm Before the Storm
This episode slowed things down even more, but it felt intentional. After all the emotional buildup and misunderstandings, Episode 10 gives us a chance to breathe. It’s like that calm before the next big storm. You know something wild is coming, but for now, we get more of those tender character moments.
Okarun, Momo, and Aira each seem to be figuring out their roles within this weird "found family" dynamic. There’s no big monster battle here, but the emotional groundwork being laid is just as important. We’re getting more glimpses into everyone’s backstories, motivations, and insecurities. These moments feel like setup for bigger payoffs later.
What I loved most: The stillness. It’s rare for Dandadan to just pause, but it did here, and it worked. It’s a chance to reflect on what these characters mean to each other. I’m all for action-packed madness, but I also love a good “quiet before the storm” episode. It builds anticipation for what’s coming next.
🏠Episode 11: First Love
Episode 11 masterfully balances humor, supernatural elements, and emotional depth. The introduction of Jiji as a potential rival adds tension, while the anatomical model subplot provides the quirky charm that Dandadan is known for. The character development, especially Okarun's emotional journey, is handled with nuance, making this episode a compelling watch.
If you've been following the series, this episode is a pivotal point that sets the stage for future developments. The blend of personal relationships and supernatural hijinks continues to make Dandadan a standout series worth watching.

These four episodes did something I love in anime — they gave us breathing room. Yes, I love high-energy fight scenes and ridiculous plot twists, but those quiet, introspective moments? Those are what make me care about the characters.
I went from rooting for Momo and Okarun as a team to suddenly worrying if Aira’s going to sneak in as a potential love rival. I’m torn, I’m invested, and I’m absolutely coming back for more. Dandadan doesn’t just deliver action — it delivers emotional punches when you least expect it.
If you haven’t started this anime (or manga), you’re seriously missing out.
What did you think of these episodes? Are you team Momo or team Aira? Let me know — I need to talk about it!
